About Alan Nettles
Hello I’m Alan Nettles.
I grew up in an Air Force family which meant we mover every couple of years. In 1976 my Dad retired from the Air Force and went to work for Lockheed in the bay area of California. I spent the last 3 years of high school in San Jose.
After high school I join the the US Navy and served on three submarines as a nuclear trained electrical technician. After 10 years in the Navy I decided to leave.
I spent the next 15 years mostly working in power plants. At the end of this time I was working for a large utility out of Florida that owned power plants all over the country. I we the Regional Controls Engineer for the western region. Basically I was responsible for the controls systems for every plant in the western United States.
As such I was always on the road living in hotel rooms and working over 12 hours a day. I was pretty much stuck though. Since I was a non-degreed engineer I couldn’t find a job that paid as much and didn’t require travel.
One day in 2004 I was at a power plant in Texas and wondering how good of a deal you could get buying a car online. I clicked on a picture of a car and it turned out to be an ad about starting a home business.
I was intrigued and not because I hadn’t seen ads about making money online, but because it actually said you needed $2,000 to get started. That seemed realistic, not that I had $2000 available. If it had said $49.95 or some such, I would have figured it was a waste of time. So I asked for the details.
So I was put on a conference call about a company called Liberty League International. I listened to what they said and then they had testimonials. I heard these people talking about making $30,poo, $50,000 and more PER MONTH. Well I figure that was the fortunate few at the “TOP”. You see I, like most people, had heard about MLM and thought I knew a lot more than I did.
I never figured I was going to make $50,000 per month, but all I had to do was find people that wanted to make money and put them on the same call. If they got started I mad $1,000. I was sure I could make $10,000 a week and that was enough that I could quit my job. So I got started.
I had recently been divorced and ruined financially. I was living in a 2 bedroom mobile home with my 17 year old daughter. I didn’t have the money to get started but seeing the potential I borrowed money to get going.
I was still working and traveling while learning about this new business and it ended up taking me 3 months to start making money. ( I’ll include posts on this site about that journey) In my forth month I had quit my job and made over $20,000 in one month. Two months after that I made over $100,000 in a single month.
I was amazed. I really believed I could make $10k in a month but figured that was a stretch. That’s when it really all hit me that my live had changed. I moved the next month and have been working from home for the last 8 years and have been able to help hundreds of other people to do the same.
